My name is Kristen Calderwood. I am a graphic designer. I specialize in branding, page layout and advertising. My talents extend to basic web design and fine art. I was born and raised in Arcata, California; a small college town on the Northern Humboldt County coast. In June 2009, I graduated with a degree in Graphic Communication with an emphasis in Design Reproduction Technology and Fine Art from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Currently, I live in Bend, Oregon and work for a mobile wireless company. Even though I'm not utilizing my talents in my day-to-day job, I keep abreast of the industry and do freelance work in my spare time. At Cal Poly, I was quite involved. I am a founding member of the Cal Poly, SLO chapter of Chi Omega, a women's fraternity; I am a PolyRep, which is a group that works closely with the Alumni Association to promote Cal Poly to prospective students and gives tours of the campus; I was the Web Offset Prepress Manager at University Graphic Systems (UGS) for the 2008-2009 school year; and I also worked at El Corral Bookstore in the Tech Center. Art has always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I can remember I have been drawing. In high school, I began painting - mostly with acrylics - and fell in love with that as well. I've been working with Adobe Photoshop since my sophomore year of high school, and in the last couple years I have become proficient (and formed a very serious romantic relationship) with the rest of the Creative Suite.
